helen ROGERS
Principal – Accountant, Registered Tax Agent
& Financial Planner

Helen is a business and accounting professional who gained more than 30 years’ experience in a Sydney based firm of Chartered Accountants. In July 2014, Helen decided to start her own Accountancy practice and Rogers & Associates – Public Accountants – was born.

Helen is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants, a Fellow of the Institute of Financial Accountants, a Registered Tax Agent, a Self-Managed Superannuation Fund Adviser (Personal Advice), holds a Diploma of Financial Planning and is a Justice of the Peace.

As a well-regarded taxation and business professional, Helen is able to apply her training, insight and practical experience across many fields. She has a proven track record of building strong relationships with her clients and her professional advice and knowledge is highly valued by them.

Her provision of advice covers many areas and includes general taxation and business compliance work for companies, trusts, partnerships, sole traders and Self-Managed Superannuation Funds. She is also able to help with strategic business planning, tax planning, profit projection with cash flow management and general business advice.

Helen is a patriotic All Blacks fanatic and a loyal long suffering supporter of the St George Dragons!

VICKY BALDAS
Accountant, registered tax agent, financial planner &
asic registered smsf auditor

Vicky brings to the firm over 15 years of accounting, taxation, superannuation and business services knowledge. Completing her Bachelor of Economics (Economics & Commercial Law) at the University of Sydney, she realised her interest was in Accounting and soon after graduated from the Graduate Conversion Course in Accounting at the University of Technology Sydney.

Vicky is an Associate Member of the Institute of Public Accountants, an Associate of the Institute of Financial Accountants, a Registered Tax Agent, an ASIC Registered SMSF Auditor, a Self-Managed Superannuation Fund Adviser (Personal Advice), holds a Diploma of Financial Planning and is a Justice of the Peace.

She specialises in providing advice and consulting services for small to medium businesses, SMSF’s and personal tax matters. Vicky currently deals with clients ranging from those in the medical profession to café owners and restaurateurs.

Vicky is a great asset to the firm, in particular, the attention she pays to detail. Her clients are always satisfied and their continuing relationship is an expression of their appreciation.

If Vicky could be anywhere besides the office, she’d be sunbaking on the shores of the Greek islands!

carolyn Bouquet
Chartered Accountant

Carolyn has over 20 years of experience as an accountant, in which time she has worked in public practice, commerce and financial services. She started her career at a Sydney based chartered accounting firm where she gained a broad range of experience in taxation, superannuation and business services whilst completing a business degree from the University of Technology Sydney. She then went on to further her studies to gain qualification as a chartered accountant.

After 8 years specialising in public accounting, she decided it was time to broaden her horizon. So, she picked up and moved to the UK for a few years where she was lucky enough to have the opportunity to explore Europe as well as gain experience working for a U.S. owned medical company with offices throughout the United States and Europe.

After returning to Sydney, Carolyn continued to explore different roles and gained experience in both financial services, working for a boutique funds management firm, and in commerce working as a financial accountant for a multinational professional services entity.

She has recently returned to public accounting where she hopes to consolidate all the knowledge she has accumulated from her varied roles to help her clients. Her attention to detail and work ethic makes her a valuable member or the team.

She is passionate about travelling, exploring the world and food!

LYN JOHNSON
Administration Manager

Lyn is the firms’ Administration Manager and brings with her many years of secretarial experience within the Accounting industry. She handles the day to day affairs of the firm ensuring everything runs smoothly.

Lyn has over 20 years’ experience in dealing with all corporate secretarial matters, including correspondence with the Australian Taxation Office and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.

In her spare time, Lyn enjoys swimming with friends from her swimming club and ending the afternoon with a glass of white. Rogers & Associates are extremely lucky to have Lyn on the team due to her efficiency and reliability.

BRUCE HOUSTON
Consultant

Bruce began his accounting career in 1960 working under the supervision of the late great Mr George R.S. Evans. During his employment with Mr Evans, Bruce was promoted to Partner and over the years became a valuable asset to the Firm.

With over 50 years’ experience in the accounting industry, Bruce has advised clients ranging from small and medium enterprises to ASX listed companies on various tax, accounting, business structuring and audit matters.

Before retirement, Bruce was a Registered Tax Agent and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand. Today he handles the affairs of a small number of clients, most of whom have been with him since he entered the accounting profession.

The team at Rogers & Associates owe so much to Bruce as he has been a mentor to each staff member at some stage throughout their career and continues to do so.
